About POGO's Federal Contractor Misconduct Database (FCMD)
The government awards contracts to companies with histories of misconduct such as contract fraud and environmental, ethics, and labor violations. In the absence of a centralized federal database listing instances of misconduct, the Project On Government Oversight (POGO) is providing such data. We believe that it will lead to improved contracting decisions and public access to information about how the government spends hundreds of billions of taxpayer money each year on goods and services. Afognak Native Corporation
Afognak Native Corporation is one of thirteen Alaska Native Regional Corporations created under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971. In 1999, as timber development opportunities began to wane, Afognak launched its government contracting business, participating in the federal government's 8(a) program for small disadvantaged businesses. Afognak's Alutiiq subsidiary employs over 5,000 people worldwide and provides a variety of services to the federal government, including security, logistics/operations and maintenance, information technology, construction, and training.
