About POGO's Federal Contractor Misconduct Database (FCMD)
The government awards contracts to companies with histories of misconduct such as contract fraud and environmental, ethics, and labor violations. In the absence of a centralized federal database listing instances of misconduct, the Project On Government Oversight (POGO) is providing such data. We believe that it will lead to improved contracting decisions and public access to information about how the government spends hundreds of billions of taxpayer money each year on goods and services. Emerson Construction Company
Emerson Construction Company, Inc. is one of the leading general contracting firms in Central Texas. NOTE: According to USAspending.gov: "Due to an administrative error on an original contract awarded by the Army in September 2008, the following table mistakenly shows Emerson Construction Co Inc as having been awarded $13,931,307,017 in FY 2008. Although a contract action report submitted to the Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS) in FY 2008 indicated that a $13.9 billion obligation was made by the Army to Emerson Construction Company, which would therefore place them in the Top 100 contractors and the DoD Top 10 contractors lists for FY2008; this figure was in error. The actual awarded amount is $15,252,000. This error was corrected in FY 2009 by a de-obligation modification for $13.9 billion, which was reported to the FPDS in January FY 2009. Since procurement data on the USAspending.gov website reflects what appears in the FPDS data archives, the de-obligation modification has been applied to FY 2009 for Emerson Construction Co Inc. "
