The government awards contracts to companies with histories of misconduct such as contract fraud and environmental, ethics, and labor violations. In the absence of a centralized federal database listing instances of misconduct, the Project On Government Oversight (POGO) is providing such data. We believe that it will lead to improved contracting decisions and public access to information about how the government spends hundreds of billions of taxpayer money each year on goods and services. Synopsis: The Food and Drug Administration issued a warning letter to GE Healthcare Integrated IT Solutions over lax quality control standards at a Barrington, IL plant that makes computer software for medical imaging. The warning letter lists 12 violations, including “failure to establish and maintain adequate procedures for analyzing processes, work operations, concessions, quality audit reports, quality records, service records, complaints, returned product, and other sources of quality data to identify existing and potential causes of nonconforming product, or other quality problems.”
