About POGO's Federal Contractor Misconduct Database (FCMD)
The government awards contracts to companies with histories of misconduct such as contract fraud and environmental, ethics, and labor violations. In the absence of a centralized federal database listing instances of misconduct, the Project On Government Oversight (POGO) is providing such data. We believe that it will lead to improved contracting decisions and public access to information about how the government spends hundreds of billions of taxpayer money each year on goods and services. Synopsis: In “June of 1992, EPA issued an administrative complaint against the Company alleging violations of regulations issued under TSCA at its Anaheim facility, including improper storage and disposal of PCBs. The complaint sought penalties of $205,000. On March 9, 1993, EPA amended the complaint to increase the amount of the penalties being sought to $353,000. The matter was settled in January 1995 for $53,000.”
