In the absence of a centralized federal database listing instances of misconduct, the Project On Government Oversight (POGO) is providing such data. Synopsis: Health Net of New York, Inc., and Health Net Insurance of New York paid $1.9 million fine to settle allegations of not providing consumers with the required information on “explanation of benefit” forms and other state insurance law violations. The companies admitted that their forms violated the law from October 2003 to September 2008 and that they failed to promptly process or pay interest on some claims.
