In the absence of a centralized federal database listing instances of misconduct, the Project On Government Oversight (POGO) is providing such data. We believe that it will lead to improved contracting decisions and public access to information about how the government spends hundreds of billions of taxpayer money each year on goods and services. Synopsis: The Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) imposed a civil penalty of $55,880 on Humana Insurance Company for failing to provide accurate information to Medicare beneficiaries in Contract Year 2010 Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) and Evidence of Coverage (EOC) documents. CMS determined that 5,588 Humana members received ANOC/EOC materials containing an incorrect statement regarding prescription drug coverage.
