The government awards contracts to companies with histories of misconduct such as contract fraud and environmental, ethics, and labor violations. In the absence of a centralized federal database listing instances of misconduct, the Project On Government Oversight (POGO) is providing such data. We believe that it will lead to improved contracting decisions and public access to information about how the government spends hundreds of billions of taxpayer money each year on goods and services. Synopsis: Robin Petersen worked for Boeing as a flight instructor in Saudi Arabia in 2009. He claims the program was a “fraudulent scheme” in which the company seized his passport and rendered him a virtual prisoner at a work facility in Jeddah, subjected him to substandard living conditions, and failed to pay him promised compensation and benefits. He also claims the company committed other ethical and safety breaches.
