About POGO's Federal Contractor Misconduct Database (FCMD)
The government awards contracts to companies with histories of misconduct such as contract fraud and environmental, ethics, and labor violations. In the absence of a centralized federal database listing instances of misconduct, the Project On Government Oversight (POGO) is providing such data. We believe that it will lead to improved contracting decisions and public access to information about how the government spends hundreds of billions of taxpayer money each year on goods and services. Synopsis: Lawrence Kevin alleges Lockheed Martin violated the McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act, which requires service contractors to pay employees no less than the monetary wage and fringe benefits prevailing in the locality. Kevin, employed by Lockheed Martin at the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center in Petaluma, California, claims the company misclassified his job position and underpaid him. A Department of Labor investigation found that Lockheed misclassified Kevin and owed him more than $8,500 in back wages.
