Synopsis: The United States filed a False Claims Act lawsuit against Kellogg, Brown & Root Services Inc. (KBR) and First Kuwaiti Trading Company for submitting inflated claims for the delivery and installation of trailers to house troops in Iraq. The lawsuit alleges that KBR and subcontractor First Kuwaiti knowingly submitted inflated bills to the government on the Bed Down Mission, an effort under the U.S. Army’s Logistics Civil Augmentation Program (LOGCAP) III contract to replace soldiers’ tents with trailers. The lawsuit also alleges breach of contract and violations of the Contract Disputes Act.
