The government awards contracts to companies with histories of misconduct such as contract fraud and environmental, ethics, and labor violations. In the absence of a centralized federal database listing instances of misconduct, the Project On Government Oversight (POGO) is providing such data. We believe that it will lead to improved contracting decisions and public access to information about how the government spends hundreds of billions of taxpayer money each year on goods and services. Synopsis: The U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Export Administration imposed a $45,000 civil penalty on Lockheed Martin to settle allegations that Martin Marietta Corp. (which merged with Lockheed Corporation in 1995 to form Lockheed Martin) violated the Export Administration Regulations between 1992 and 1994 when it exported graphic/epoxy prepreg material from the United States to South Korea without obtaining the required validated export licenses.
