The government awards contracts to companies with histories of misconduct such as contract fraud and environmental, ethics, and labor violations. In the absence of a centralized federal database listing instances of misconduct, the Project On Government Oversight (POGO) is providing such data. We believe that it will lead to improved contracting decisions and public access to information about how the government spends hundreds of billions of taxpayer money each year on goods and services. Synopsis: Unisys Corporation agreed to pay the United States $1,430,000 to settle claims that it failed to disclose accurate and complete information to the Air Force during 1990 contract negotiations to build a radar system known as the North Warning System, in violation of the False Claims Act 31 U.S.C. § 3729, et seq. Unisys failed to disclose that it was considering subcontracting certain quality control work to a company called ASR Corporation.
