In the absence of a centralized federal database listing instances of misconduct, the Project On Government Oversight (POGO) is providing such data. We believe that it will lead to improved contracting decisions and public access to information about how the government spends hundreds of billions of taxpayer money each year on goods and services. Synopsis: In May 1997, a test conducted on equipment manufactured by General Electric Medical Systems revealed regulation violations. General Electric was given 15 days to submit a corrective action plan to rectify the noncompliances found during the test. This violation of the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act also carries the potential for a civil liability.
