About POGO's Federal Contractor Misconduct Database (FCMD)
The government awards contracts to companies with histories of misconduct such as contract fraud and environmental, ethics, and labor violations. In the absence of a centralized federal database listing instances of misconduct, the Project On Government Oversight (POGO) is providing such data. We believe that it will lead to improved contracting decisions and public access to information about how the government spends hundreds of billions of taxpayer money each year on goods and services. Synopsis: Lloyd Stone and Steve Lewis each filed individual complaints with the Department of Labor alleging discrimination and a pattern of reprisal on the part of CH2M Hanford Group, Inc. in violation of the whistleblower protection provisions of various environmental laws. Prior to the scheduled trial date, the plaintiffs submitted their consolidated claim to a settlement judge at the Office of Administrative Law Judges, who facilitated a settlement in December 2003, the terms of which all parties agreed to keep confidential.
