About POGO's Federal Contractor Misconduct Database (FCMD)
The government awards contracts to companies with histories of misconduct such as contract fraud and environmental, ethics, and labor violations. In the absence of a centralized federal database listing instances of misconduct, the Project On Government Oversight (POGO) is providing such data. We believe that it will lead to improved contracting decisions and public access to information about how the government spends hundreds of billions of taxpayer money each year on goods and services. Synopsis: Wackenhut Services Inc. informed its employees at the Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia, Pa. that they will be receiving back pay owed to them after an employee, Officer Charles Wilson, filed a wage and hour complaint with the U.S. Department of Labor. Wilson accused Wackenhut of shortchanging them of at least 14 cents an hour in fringe benefits. Wackenhut acknowledged the employees had not been paid their proper rate since October 1, 2006.
