About POGO's Federal Contractor Misconduct Database (FCMD)
The government awards contracts to companies with histories of misconduct such as contract fraud and environmental, ethics, and labor violations. In the absence of a centralized federal database listing instances of misconduct, the Project On Government Oversight (POGO) is providing such data. We believe that it will lead to improved contracting decisions and public access to information about how the government spends hundreds of billions of taxpayer money each year on goods and services. Synopsis: LaWanda Geter is suing General Electric Co. for racial discrimination and retaliation and is seeking class action status for all similarly-situated African-Americans. Geter, an assistant vice president in the bank loan group for GE Corporate Financial Services in Norwalk, Connecticut claims she has been harassed by supervisors, passed over for promotions, assigned lower-level work and paid lower bonuses than white employees performing the same work, and that other African-American employees have received similar treatment.
