Refinery Associates of Texas Inc. is a petroleum products trading company that works with refiners to procure shipments of fuel. According to a 2004 media account, the company employs five people and has annual sales of $120 million. In June 2006, the Department of Defense awarded Refinery Associates a $406.6 million contract to supply turbine fuel for the U.S. Army and Air Force. The contract will be complete by June 30, 2007. In 2004, it won a $108 million contract from the Department of Defense to supply diesel fuel and gasoline to northern Iraq, replacing work that was to have been done by Halliburton, then under investigation for alleged overcharging for fuel under a no-bid contract with the Army Corps of Engineers.
