The European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company N.V. (EADS) is a global pan-European aerospace and defense corporation and military contractor. EADS includes Airbus (commercial and military aircraft), Eurocopter (helicopters), Astrium (civil and defense space systems and services), and Cassidian (systems solutions for aerial, land, naval, and civilian security applications). EADS was formed in July 2000 by the merger of Aérospatiale-Matra of France, DaimlerChrysler Aerospace AG (DASA) of Germany, and Construcciones Aeronáuticas SA (CASA) of Spain. In 2014, EADS was renamed Airbus Group NV.
