Its areas of expertise include flight deck avionics, cabin electronics, mission communications, and information management. Rockwell Collins has two main divisions: Commercial Systems, which serves the commercial airline industry with navigation, communication, in flight entertainment and other products, and Government Systems, which primarily serves the U.S. government and military, but also provides some products and services to foreign governments. Its Advanced Technology Center department focuses on research and development. In September 2017, United Technologies acquired Rockwell Collins.
