Paxil Class Action (National)

GlaxoSmithKline settled a class-action lawsuit over its antidepressant Paxil by agreeing to pay insurers $40 million to reimburse health plans that paid for children and adolescents to receive the drug between 1998 and 2004. The lawsuit alleged GSK suppressed studies showing the drug was not safe or effective for the treatment of depression in children under the age of 18.
