Boston Harbor Oil Spill
ExxonMobil Pipeline Company pleaded guilty to one count of violating the Clean Water Act in connection with the January 2006 spill of approximately 15,000 gallons of kerosene and low sulfur diesel fuel into the Mystic River from an oil terminal in Everett, Mass. Under a plea agreement, the company paid more than $6.1 million in fines and costs and agreed to have the terminal monitored by a court appointed observer for three years.
