Minneapolis Bridge Collapse (Civil Litigation)
Survivors and families of victims of the August 1, 2007 bridge collapse in Minneapolis filed negligence suits against URS Corporation, which analyzed the Interstate 35W Bridge, and Progressive Contractors, Inc., which was resurfacing the bridge. Plaintiffs claimed the collapse, which killed 13 people and injured 145, was avoidable. In August 2010, URS settled with the plaintiffs for $52.4 million.
