Pappas v. Transocean et al. (April 2010 Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill)

Houston, Texas-based restaurant chain Pappas Restaurants Inc. filed suit to recover damages caused by the April 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil rig explosion and oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Pappas claims that serving Gulf seafood is a “staple and a trademark of its business” and that the oil spill caused Pappas to suffer “irrevocable damage.” Pappas accuses several companies, including BP, of engaging in reckless and negligent conduct both before and after the incident.
