False Claims at Savannah River Site
Wackenhut Services, Inc. (WSI) agreed to pay the United States $650,000 to resolve False Claims Act allegations involving its contracts to provide security services at the Savannah River Site and other facilities. The government alleged that, from 2001 through 2005, WSI submitted to the Department of Energy hundreds of thousands of dollars in unallowable expenses for such things as a charter boat cruise, a Polynesian drum show, and alcohol for WSI employees.
