Violation of U.S. Embargo on Iran and Sudan

A.P. Moeller-Maersk paid a $3.1 million fine for violating the United States’ embargo on Iran and Sudan. The U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) alleged Maersk Line, Ltd. used ships registered in the United States to carry commercial cargo to Sudan and Iran between January 2003 and October 2007.
