Hawaii Drug Prices Lawsuit
The state of Hawaii sued McKesson Corp., accusing the company of conspiring to artificially inflate the wholesale prices of brand-name drugs. The state alleges that McKesson and pharmaceutical data publishing company First DataBank conspired to artificially inflate the average wholesale price (AWP) of the drugs, causing state Medicaid program to pay millions of dollars in excess charges.
