Improper Billing and Cost Shifting
Westinghouse Savannah River Co., prime contractor at the Savannah River Site, agreed to pay $4.4 million to settle allegations of improper travel expense billing and improper cost shifting. The company paid $2.6 million in connection with allegations that its employees improperly received travel expenses while on long-term temporary assignments, and $1.8 million for allegedly improperly shifting costs from one project to another within the Environmental Technology Section at Savannah River Site between 1991 and 1998.
