Hawaii Average Wholesale Price Litigation
The state of Hawaii settled with dozens of pharmaceutical companies, including Merck, Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline and Novartis, which were accused of gouging Hawaii’s Medicaid program for more than a decade by fraudulently inflating their prescription drug prices. The total amount of the settlements was $82.7 million. The companies did not admit any liability or wrongdoing.
