Kotla v. University of California (Wrongful Termination)
Former Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory employee Dee Kotla claimed the lab’s operator, the University of California, wrongly fired her in 1997 because she testified against the lab in a co-worker’s sexual harassment lawsuit. Two juries found in her favor, awarding her $1 million in 2002 and then $2.1 million in 2005 after the first verdict was thrown out.
