Valero Refining–Texas v. KBR, et al. (Breach of Contract, Negligence)
Valero Energy sued four companies, including KBR, over an August 4, 2008 explosion at Valero’s Houston refinery that led to the release of dangerous sulfur compounds. Valero claims it has incurred more than $5 million in damages for the incident, which it alleges was the result of defects in the design, engineering, and construction of the sulfur tank facilities.
