Disability Discrimination

Verizon Communications agreed to pay $20 million and provide other equitable relief to resolve a nationwide disability discrimination lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The lawsuit claimed the company unlawfully denied reasonable accommodations to hundreds of employees and disciplined and/or fired them pursuant Verizon’s “no fault” attendance policy, in violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA).
