Early Termination Fee Lawsuit

A customer class action lawsuit claimed that Verizon Wireless violated state and federal consumer protection law by imposing flat Early Termination Fees (ETFs) of between $175 and $200 (the amount of the fee remained constant for the duration of the customer’s contract). Verizon Wireless settled the lawsuit for $21 million.
