Cheifer v. JetBlue Airways (Illegal Wiretapping)
A California class action lawsuit alleged that JetBlue Airways illegally recorded thousands of calls to customer service agents. Named plaintiff Lee Cheifer filed the suit in December 2010, alleging JetBlue violated California’s eavesdropping law by recording nearly all calls to its customer service phone line without consistently disclosing they were being recorded. The case settled in October 2013 for $3.2 million.
