Noble v. Serco (Fair Labor Standards Act Violation)
Serco Inc. (a U.S.-based subsidiary of Serco Group) settled a lawsuit filed by recruiters who accused the company of violating the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) by failing to properly compensate its employees. Lead plaintiff Mike Noble sued Serco in December 2008 alleging Serco failed to pay him and other employees for overtime work. Noble worked for Serco from 2005 to 2008, during which time Serco allegedly misclassified him as exempt under the FLSA.
