Violations of Louisville, KY Air Quality Standards
BAE Systems Land and Armaments L.P. agreed to pay a $105,000 penalty to the Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (LMAPCD) to settle alleged local air quality violations that occurred in 2013. In May 2013, the LMAPCD found the company’s facility was emitting particulate pollution at a rate nearly four times higher than its permit allowed. It also found that the hexavalent chromium emission rate was about 7 times higher than the permitted level. Under the settlement agreement, BAE Systems did not admit any wrongdoing.
