Utah Oil Spills

Chevron Pipe Line Company paid a civil penalty of $875,000 to settle a Clean Water Act lawsuit over two oil spills that occurred near Salt Lake City, Utah. The first oil spill, in June 2010, discharged approximately 800 barrels in Red Butte Creek. The second oil spill, in March 2013, discharged approximately 499 barrels near Willard Bay Reservoir.
