U.S. ex rel. Forcier v. Computer Sciences Corp. et al. (Medicaid False Claims)
The federal government sued New York City and Computer Sciences Corporation for allegedly defrauding the Medicaid program of millions of dollars in improper payments by exploiting a computerized billing system designed by CSC. According to the government, from 2008 to 2012, the defendants took advantage of the system’s automatic default settings to alter diagnostic codes, enabling the city to improperly increase the amount and speed of reimbursements for services provided to infants and toddlers with developmental delays.
