Jepsen v. CCA (Wrongful Termination)
Shane Jepsen, former chief of security at the Idaho Correctional Center (ICC), alleged that Corrections Corporation of American illegally fired him. Jepsen claimed that he brought to the company’s attention persistent staffing vacancies and falsification of staffing records at the ICC. He claimed that CCA tried to put the blame on him and fired him to protect their contract to manage the facility. In January 2015, it was reported that CCA and Jepsen resolved the lawsuit with CCA accepting Jepsen’s voluntary resignation pursuant to a confidential severance agreement.
