Fraudulent Billing and Understaffing at Idaho Correctional Center
Corrections Corporation of America reportedly paid the State of Idaho $1 million to compensate for submitting thousands of falsified staffing records at the Idaho Correctional Center. CCA admitted that it had reported staffing security posts that were actually vacant. The vacant posts and falsified records violated the terms of CCA’s contract to manage the facility, as well as a 2011 settlement agreement with inmates who sued CCA claiming conditions at the facility violated their Constitutional rights. (See related Corrections Corporation of America instances, “Jepsen v. CCA (Wrongful Termination)” and “Idaho Correctional Center – ACLU Lawsuit”).
