Wise v. Dell (Age Discrimination)
A jury in Travis County, Texas found in favor of William Wise, Jr., a former technical sales representative at Dell, on his claim of wrongful termination based on age discrimination. Dell fired Wise in 2008 when he was 61 years old. The jury awarded Wise nearly $215,000 in back pay, more than $408,000 in what it projected Wise would have earned in the future, and $44,400 in compensatory damages. In 2013, an appellate court upheld the verdict and awarded Wise $221,000 in attorney fees.
