Village of Stillwater, et al. v. General Electric (Hudson River PCB Dredging Litigation)
General Electric agreed to pay $7.95 million to partially settle a lawsuit filed in 2009 by communities along the Hudson River in New York that shut down or moved their water supplies. The plaintiffs claim GE should help pay the cost for alternate water supplies that were used as a result of GE’s federally mandated $1 billion PCB dredging project on the river. GE settled in 2014 with the towns of Stillwater and Waterford. In May 2016, GE settled with the Saratoga County Water Authority for $5.3 million.
