Faulty Ignition Switches – Arizona Lawsuit
Arizona’s attorney general filed a lawsuit against General Motors claiming that GM deliberately endangered Arizona consumers by intentionally concealing ignition switch defects and other safety defects in its vehicles. The lawsuit sought to hold GM accountable for its alleged role in suppressing knowledge of defects and not recalling vehicles in a timely manner after July 10, 2009. The suit claimed that GM misled Arizona consumers into buying its vehicles under the false pretense that they were safe and reliable. In March 2018, it was announced that GM settled the lawsuit for $7.3 million.
