Cappellino v. GlaxoSmithKline (Gender Discrimination)
Joseph Cappellino, a former sales manager at GlaxoSmithKline, claimed he lost his job in 2011 to a less-qualified woman. Cappellino claimed that Glaxo used the circumstances surrounding a training evaluation exam as a false pretense for his firing. He alleged that the real reason for his termination was a diversity initiative at the company to place more women in sales leadership roles, which he claimed led to less qualified and younger women being favored over men. The parties settled the case in September 2014.
