Timothy’s Law Violations

The New York State Department of Financial Services fined Health Net $260,680 for violating the state’s “Timothy’s Law”, which requires insurance companies to notify small businesses that they are eligible to buy special insurance coverage for mental illnesses and children with serious emotional disturbances. The violations occurred during calendar years 2008 and 2009.
