Sacred Heart Health System, et al. v. Humana Military Healthcare Services (Breach of Contract, Fraud)

Hospitals in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Mississippi filed a lawsuit alleging that Humana Military Healthcare Services, Inc. breached network agreements with regard to reimbursement of outpatient services provided under the federal government’s TRICARE program between 1999 and 2009. In May 2012, Humana reached a settlement with 37 hospitals for which it reportedly incurred approximately $45 million in expenses according to a statement Humana filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
