U.S. v. Fine and Wenger (Commercial Bribery)
Former Humana regional sales managers Glenn Fine and James Wenger were charged with taking more than $4 million in bribes from a South Carolina company between 2006 and 2010 in exchange for steering insurance brokers and agents to the company. According to the government, Humana neither knew about nor authorized the improper payments. Fine and Wenger pleaded guilty, each agreeing to pay $100,000 in restitution to Humana and a $100 special assessment and forfeit $900,000 to the federal government. In September 2015, Fine and Wenger were sentenced to one year and one day in prison.
