U.S. ex rel. Chillcott v. KBR (LOGCAP False Claims)
Karen Chillcott, a former senior contracting manager at KBR, alleged KBR defrauded the government by billing unallowable mobilization and demobilization costs on the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program (LOGCAP) III and IV contracts for thousands of personnel who failed to remain in theater for the required length of time. Chillcott claimed the government paid KBR more than $200 million for unallowable mobilization and demobilization costs incurred in the Middle East, Europe, Central Asia, and the Mediterranean between 2003 and 2009. The case settled pursuant to a confidential agreement in October 2014.
