LOGCAP III Supplies False Claims

Geoffrey Howard and Zella Hemphill, former employees of KBR subsidiary Service Employees International, accused KBR of buying hundreds of millions of dollars of excessive or duplicate supplies stockpiled under the LOGCAP III contract. KBR allegedly maintained an inventory management system for tracking and storing supplies, equipment, and materials that allowed the company to charge the government for thousands of wasteful, unnecessary purchases. The lawsuit alleges that by June 2009, KBR had over $600 million in idle government property in its warehouses. The lawsuit also alleges that KBR improperly reserved supplies and kept them away from units or departments that needed them.
