Scheinberg v. Merck (Fosamax Products Liability)

Rhoda Scheinberg claimed she developed osteonecrosis of the jaw as a result of using Merck’s Fosamax osteoporosis drug from 2000 to 2006. In February 2013, a federal jury found that Merck failed to warn Scheinberg’s physicians about Fosamax’s risks and awarded Scheinberg $285,000 in damages for pain and suffering. The jury rejected her claim that Fosamax was defectively designed.
