Connecticut Lobbying Violation

The Connecticut Office of State Ethics entered into a consent order with Pfizer settling violations of state lobbying laws for failing to report expenses associated with a lobbying reception it hosted during the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina. The reception was attended by nine Connecticut state employees, public officials, and/or members of a public official’s staff or immediate family. Although the cost per person for the reception exceeded ten dollars, Pfizer failed to itemize any of the expenditures on its third and fourth quarter 2012 financial reports. Pfizer paid a $5,000 civil penalty.
