Charging Inflated Prices for Blackhawk Spare Parts
United Technologies subsidiary Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation paid $3.5 million to settle allegations that it charged the federal government inflated prices for Blackhawk Helicopter spare parts. The government alleged that, from February 2008 to September 2011, Sikorsky failed to disclose accurate, complete, and current cost and pricing data to the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Life Cycle Management Command (AMCOM), in violation of the False Claims Act and the Truth In Negotiations Act. Sikorsky allegedly caused the government to pay artificially excessive prices for 53 spare parts.
